Lagos, Nigeria – The Dolly Children Foundation (DCF) has successfully concluded its four-week free Summer 9.0 program, a holiday initiative designed to provide academic support, digital skills, and creative empowerment for children. This year, the program expanded its reach beyond community-based centers to impact children across Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, and Abuja.

Led by Founder and Convener, Adedolapo Osuntuyi mentioned that the program provided structured learning opportunities in literacy, numeracy, arts, and technology. A key highlight was the digital creativity track, where children advanced from basic computer use to developing websites with AI and designing storybooks with Canva.

The Gamaliel and Susan Onosode Foundation (GAMSU Foundation) played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this year’s program. GAMSU funded teachers’ salaries and donated back-to-school materials, guaranteeing that the initiative remained free for all participants while also encouraging the teachers who committed their expertise.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Adedolapo Osuntuyi, Founder of Dolly Children Foundation, stated that summer 9.0 has once again demonstrated that when children are given the right platform, they thrive. Our vision is to take this initiative even further, ensuring that more children in underserved communities benefit from this life-changing program.”

With strategic and strong backing from the GAMSU Foundation and support from the Reel Foundation, DCF’s Summer 9.0 has reaffirmed its mission to bridge the educational and digital divide for underserved children. Preparations are already underway for Summer 10.0, with plans to extend the program’s reach even further across Nigeria.
